The breaking strength is the maximum stress, expressed in kilograms, that a material can withstand without breaking. The numerical value of the breaking strength must always be twice the numerical value of the lashing capacity (LC), expressed in daN.
The term WLL stands for Working Load Limit, which refers to the maximum permitted load that can be lifted in a straight pull using means such as lifting slings and round slings. The WLL is expressed in metric tons and varies according to the lifting angle. To determine the effect of a certain angle on the WLL of your lifting strap, refer to the WLL summary, which can be found next to the product image for the lifting strap or round slings. The term Safe Working Load (SWL) is another, less-known term for WLL.

- Avoid exposure to UV-rays (direct sunlight)
- Always check on damage before storing the roundsling
- Never put a damaged roundsling back in the storage

Increase safety:
Anti-slip mats are essential for increasing safety when transporting loads. The friction between the cargo and the load bed plays a critical role in securing your loads safely. By using an anti-skid mat, you can significantly increase the coefficient of friction, which reduces the outward forces on the load during transportation.
Save money:
In addition to enhancing safety, anti-slip mats can save you money by decreasing the total pretension force needed to tie down cargo. This means you need less securing means necessary to secure your cargo. Investing in an anti-skid mat is a minor expense for a significant result.
Save time:
Anti-slip mats also save time. They can be rolled out and trimmed quickly, reducing the loading time considerably. Additionally, reducing the amount of securing means needed can also contribute to a shorter loading time.
Safety always comes first. That is why all round slings are required to have a readable blue label sewn on (blue always indicates a product made of polyester). Never use round slings without a label and make sure it contains the following indelible information:
• Name of the manufacturer
• Country of origin
• Type approval number
• Safe working load (WLL)
• Use factor (7)
• Production date
• Serial number
• Length
The user is responsible for the proper use of round slings. Never work unprepared.

Anti-slip mats, anti-slip stripes, and anti-slip tiles are used to prevent cargo from sliding in the load bed and between loads. Anti-slip mats are standard equipment for load securing and professional transportation, including road, rail, air, and sea transport. Using anti-slip mats improves safety, saves valuable loading time, and reduces the need for tie-down straps.
To optimize the anti-slip effect, ensure that the contact surfaces are clean and greaseproof.

Round slings are made of polyester yarns encased in a double-woven polyester protective sleeve. Polyester (PES) has the following properties:
• Good resistance to high temperatures, UV radiation, and most acids
• Retains strength even when wet
• High tensile strength in proportion to its specific weight
Lifting equipment made of polyester always comes with a blue label.

Great forces affect the load during transport, especially during braking. As much as 80% of the weight of the cargo moves forward during braking. 50% of the weight burst to the left, right, and back. An anti-slip mat (with a coefficient of friction of a minimum of 0.6 μ) has a considerable impact on the forces.
Here is an example with a load of 8000 kg (gravity center in the middle of the load)
Metal on wood
80% of 8000 kg= 6400 kg
0,4 μ (coefficient of friction) x 8000 kg= 3200 kg
Total forces to absorb: 3200 kg
Amount of tie-down straps needed*:
3200: 320 = 10 tie-down straps
* To know the amount of tie-down straps, divide the total of the forces by the Standard Tension Force (STF) of the tie-down strap.
Metal on an anti-slip mat
80% van 8000 kg= 6400 kg
0,6 μ (coefficient of friction) x 8000 kg= 4800 kg
Total forces to absorb: 1600 kg
Amount of tie-down straps needed:
1600: 320 = 5 tie-down straps

STF stands for Standard Tension Force, which is a measurement of the force present in the strap after it has been tensioned using a ratchet with a force equal to the SHF (Standard Hand Force). The specific STF value can vary depending on the type of ratchet used, and it can range from 10 to 20% of the Lashing Capacity.
The label of your tie-down strap should feature the STF (Standard Tension Force) measurement as it is mandatory to indicate this value.
The coefficient of friction is a number that represents the friction between two surfaces. Between two equal surfaces, the coefficient of friction will be the same. The symbol usually used for the coefficient of friction is μ.
The interaction between two different surfaces gives a different coefficient of friction.
For example:
- Metal on metal: μ = 0,2
- Metal on wood: μ = 0,4
- Metal on anti-skid carpet: μ = 0,6
The higher the coefficient of friction, the better the cargo will be secured, and the less securing means you need to anchor your load.
RoHS stands for "Restriction of Hazardous Substances" in English. RoHS is an EU directive that restricts the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. The hazardous substances that are to be banned include PB, Hg, Cd, hexavalent Cr (CR61), and the flame retardants PBB and PBDE. Some ratchets are coated with a zinc chromate coating or topcoat. Cr3-coated ratchets are compliant with the RoHS directive, but a CR6-coated ratchet is not. Certification or labeling is not mandatory under the RoHS directive.
When should I NOT use a round sling?
Always check the condition of the round sling before use.
Always check
- all sides of the round sling
- label
- any fittings, end fittings, and connecting elements. If there is any doubt about the safety/quality, DO NOT use the round sling.
DO NOT use:
- Round sling without a label.
- Never use a round sling that is not labeled. Safety is not guaranteed.
- Damaged round sling. Damage (e.g. due to friction) causes loss in breaking strength.
- To prevent friction, use a worn or protective cover.
- Always avoid direct contact with sharp edges and corners.
- Round slings exposed to chemicals.
- Round slings are made of polyester yarns. These are resistant to mineral acids, but not alkalis. Harmless chemical solutions can still have a negative effect on the round sling due to evaporation after a certain period of time contaminated round sling.
- Always wash dirty round slings thoroughly in cold water. Use neutral detergents if necessary
- Dip round slings which have been in contact with acids or alkalis in water or neutralize them with e.g. trichloroethylene or tetrachloroethylene.
- Then allow drying naturally
- Knotted round slings
- Never use round slings with a knot in them. Knots can heat up and cause additional friction. This affects the WLL workload and no longer guarantees safety
- Round sling exposed to extreme temperatures
- Lifting slings are suitable for use at temperatures between - 40° C and +100° C
